MU Libraries Homepage Tutorial: Links and Icons at the Right

From the library’s homepage you can navigate
to resources such as books, journal articles, online databases, government documents, newspapers,
and media. The section at the right includes the news
carousel which rotates automatically through current library news and events. Directly below the carousel you’ll find a
list of some links with designated icons. The “Ask the Librarians!” link takes you to
frequently asked questions and answers. Start typing your question and an answer will
be auto suggested as you continue. You can also send in a question using a form
or directly chat with a librarian. “Events, Classes & Workshops” will link you
to the MU Libraries calendar with dates and times for workshops, classes meeting at the
library, and other upcoming events. The gold tabs have more options like scheduling
events or classes at the Libraries. “Apps & Tools” show resources for citation
formatting and management, plugins, and database alerts. These tools include Endnote, Zotero, Mendeley,
and LibX Plugin. “Off-Campus Access” helps you troubleshoot
common issues with connecting to library resources from off-campus as well as the problem report
form which you can send if you have a specific access problem and need personalized help. “Support the Libraries” links to a page about
different ways to donate to the Libraries. Finally, use the “Ask the Librarians!” pop
out tab on the right if you have an immediate question. If you have any questions about the site or
would like research assistance, you can always contact the reference desk at Ellis Library.
